Rhodochrosite is a pink color manganese carbonate mineral formed when manganese is dissolved by ground water and combines with a carbonate material and then drips off the ceiling of caves and crevices deep underground.  The Capillitas Mine is believed to be the world’s largest mass of rhodochrosite. It’s famous for its unique formations occurring as stalactites and stalagmites that are rhodochrosite.
